A-ma-Zing Critters of the Seas

an illustrated children's book by Leesa Wiesner.

From the first A for Angler Fish through Z for Zebra Shark children will delight in exploring the alphabet and the creatures of the seas. This delightful book uses rhyme and original artwork to describe many of the animals that live in the oceans. Some of the critters may be familiar and some are rarely seen. In this book, the author’s life-long passion for preserving the aquatic realm is reflected throughout. The author of one other children’s book, Wiesner uniquely includes some ecological lessons related to the ocean animals. In the real world, her years of experience as a teacher as well as a scuba diver have helped her form a unique and personal relationship with many of the creatures she has featured in the book.

Each page of rhyme is illustrated

with colorful drawings by the artist herself.

Chasing the Compass Rose

Aquarius has been in business for 36 years.

During that time Aquarius divers have dove with sharks and sea lions, mantas and manatees. We have ridden the currents of the Maldives, Palau, the Philippines, Fiji, and the Rainbow River. We have seen the Southern Cross from a boat in Galapagos, swam with humpback whales on the Silver Banks and sperm whales in the Azores. We have seen the beautiful and the bizarre all over the Caribbean, and on Yap Island.  We tasted history on Midway and in the wrecks of Truk Lagoon. We have dove Vancouver Island with it's abundant life and freezing waters . We have done liveaboards, bare boats, drove by car, and flown to destinations all around this world. We have done more quarries than I care to count and have been to Bonaire 76 times.

Aquarius has trained well over 2,000 divers with classes ranging from open water to divemaster. I have loved each and every one of these ventures and realize this would not have been possible with out the support and trust of you my students, travel buddies and friends.

Thank you all... and so where do we go next?
